State Executive Council Candidates

The Michigan Business Professionals of America State Executive Council is dedicated to helping members become the best and truest version of themselves. The organization aims to promote individuality and excellence in the workplace by doing so.

The State Executive Council is made up of a team from the brightest and most dedicated minds in the Michigan BPA community. They can help members become the best versions of themselves through taking the lead in planning and executing: the State Service Project, Fall Leadership Conference, and State Leadership Conference. Not only does the State Executive Council play a key role in pre-planned conferences and other initiatives, but every year the State Executive Council creates its initiatives to better live up to the mission of serving Michigan BPA.

Running to be a state officer is a heavy decision and one that should not be made on a whim. By becoming a state officer, you will have lots of duties throughout your whole term. While this may seem like a daunting task, there are plenty of benefits of being a state officer. The current State Executive Council have created this list of tips they thought were useful for the upcoming candidates that are running.

  • Do not be afraid to reach out to the current State Executive Council. We are always happy to help and wish the best for all candidates.

  • Make sure to check your emails. Missing one email can put your candidacy in danger so make sure to check regularly.

  • Always be early to any event you have. You never know when something will go wrong and you might lose time.

  • Have fun at SLC! You will probably feel stressed during the whole process, but try your best to relax and enjoy your time there.

  • Try to finish your campaign material ahead of time. Waiting on finishing your campaign can cause future headaches.

  • Rely on your campaign managers! They are your closest helpers and you can complete so much more with other people than just yourself.

  • Be yourself! People want to know you, not a facade you can create.

  • PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE RULES. If you feel like you do not know if you can do something, communicate with an officer. PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME.

If you are interested in running for a State Executive Council position, please complete the Candidate Interest Form and we will send you more information.
