UPCOMING EVENTS

State Leadership Conference (Davenport University, Grand Rapids, MI)

BPA WEEK: FEBRUARY 8-12
BPA week is this week…February 8-12 and it is the best time for your chapter to promote your chapter and conduct fundraising projects. Make sure you plan a BPA activity for the week. It’s great to have a social event during the week for your chapter and also a community activity so people can learn more about BPA.

** SLC CONFERENCE PAYMENT
If applicable, outstanding state conference payments were due yesterday. Payments are accepted via credit card online at http://bit.ly/bpa-ps-credit.

** STUDENT COMPETITION REPORT & CORRECTIONS
Please logon to BPA Scheduler at www.bpascheduler.com and click the “Attendee Report” tab. That report will give you a listing of all the students and their competition time slots. You should print the “Printer Friendly” version of this report. NOTE: Judged event appointment times will be sent to you on or before Thursday morning.

If you have any registration changes, please send me an e-mail message indicating the change by 5:00 PM today. No changes will be made after this deadline time.

** ADVISOR ASSIGNMENTS
Although I mentioned in a special message yesterday, that advisor assignments will be forthcoming today, I will include these in the confirmation message tomorrow. All advisors and chapter chaperones will be assigned to work a contest room. Some contest rooms have more than one contest. Fulfilling one’s advisor assignment is critical to the success of the conference.

In addition, Visual Studio 2013 will be used for Visual Basic/C# Programming and Java Programming. Eclipse is also available for Java Programming as well.

EQUIPMENT STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE
Please pay close attention to the events, especially in the I.T. area, in which students must provide their own laptop in order to complete the work. The programming events require the students to have their own equipment OR they can use the computers at Davenport using the software indicated above.

PROJECTORS FOR JUDGED EVENTS
Contestants will be able to use the projectors and whiteboards in the classrooms at Davenport University for their presentations. Davenport University’s classrooms are configured with projectors and whiteboards in all classrooms and computer labs. Students may bring their presentations and use the teacher station in the classroom if you are using software in the Microsoft Office 2013 suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher). If you are using some other software, bring your laptop and you can very easily connect your laptop to the projection system.
