** NLC CONTESTANT SUBSTITUTIONS
Yesterday I started processing alternates for contestants who have canceled their participation in our national conference. If and when you receive a message inviting an alternate to attend the conference, please reply to such messages within 48 hours as requested in the message. This will allow time to notify other alternates if your student declines the invitation.
NLC TRADING PINS
Place your order for trading pins before our state conference for the secondary division takes place. If your chapter is attending the national conference, please visit our website at www.michiganbpa.org/nlc-trading-pins. I’m sure your students will want to participate in the ever-so-popular trading pin excitement during the national conference. Trading pins sell out fast, so don’t delay!
NLC HOTEL RESERVATION INFORMATION (Applies only to 2016 NLC)
Michigan will split assignments between the Westin Copley Place, Hilton Boston Back Bay, and The Colonnade properties. Property assignments will take place in March at the conclusion of the Secondary Division State Leadership Conference and managed through the National Center. The rate at each property is $249.00 per night plus applicable taxes. All properties are within walking distance to the Hynes Convention Center and Sheraton Boston Hotel.
The Michigan delegation must still reserve their reservation online under the BPA Conference Registration System. More details to follow next week. When you submit your information online, you will “build” your hotel reservation, but you will not submit it. The only thing you will submit will be the conference registration. Therefore, essentially you will be submitting your conference registration WITHOUT a hotel reservation.
Please complete the survey below. The information will be utilized to assign your chapter to a hotel for the 2016 BPA National Leadership Conference.
Please visit www.bpa.org/nlc/hous for more information regarding housing at the 2016 National Leadership Conference.
NLC ROOMMATE MATCHING
If you need to locate roommates for students or individuals from your chapter, feel free to post a message on our NLC roommate matching blog. When you use this blog, make sure you provide your name, school, and e-mail address so you may be contacted directly by someone who reads your post. Give as much detailed information as possible. Visit www.michiganbpa.org/nlc-roommate-matchingto share your roommate needs with other chapters.
