** PRACTICE CERTIFICATION EXAMS
Many BPA competitions have a certification component. Help your students prepare for these exams by visiting the MeasureUp website located at www.measureup.com/. This site offers practice exams for various certification exams that will be offered at the national conference.

** DISNEY YES EVENT ITINERARY FORTHCOMING
Chapters who signed up to attend the Disney YES event will receive an itinerary very late this week or on Monday. Michigan BPA Educational Resources Coordinator Nate Cradit is meeting with Disney later this week to finalize the schedules.

** NLC JUDGES STILL NEEDED
If you have not selected a conference assignment for the NLC, please sign up to serve as a judge for an event in a different division than that which you service. Advisors who have selected another conference duty are welcome to judge in addition to other assignments. Judges receive a light, complimentary orientation meal immediately prior to the event. Many additional judges are needed to make the conference a success. You are encouraged to invite your chaperones, conference guests and colleagues to serve as a judge. The website for judges’ registration is: www.registermychapter.com/bpamem/JudgesReg.aspx.

** NLC APG ASSIGNMENTS AND JUDGING
All advisors attending the conference must fulfill an assignment as a contest administrator, proctor, grader, or other conference duty. APG Orientation sessions are offered to acquaint administrators, proctors and graders with their responsibilities. Please plan to attend one of the APG Orientation sessions listed in the conference program schedule.

** NLC PHOTOS AND SPECIAL AWARDS INFORMATION
In many instances, Michigan BPA is unaware of BPA Cares Awards chapters receive. In addition, National BPA is unable to provide us with student success information regarding the MOS and MTA certifications. Furthermore, we want to have photos for our Michigan BPA website and conference-in-review newsletter.

Please share all of this information with us throughout the conference online www.michiganbpa.org/nlc-awards-and-photos.

** INDUSTRY CERTIFICATIONS
All individuals planning to take a certification test (competitive event or stand-by) need to register with Certiport before attending the NLC. Visit www.certiport.com to register. This includes students competing in events that require a certification test and those who take a certification exam voluntarily. Stand-by lines will be available during the conference.

** DRESS CODE
Make sure your students are fully aware of the dress code requirements and the fact that if they are not properly attired they will not be allowed to participate in their competitions.

** JUDGES COMMENTS
If your students in judged events would like feedback, please remember to bring self-addressed, stamped envelopes. Judges’ comments will be returned for those contestants providing a stamped envelope(s) addressed to the local advisor, with the contestant ID number, school name and contest name written on the flap. The student must give the envelope to the contest judges when they enter the room.

** PRESUBMITTED MATERIALS
Additional copies of all pre-submitted information are required at NLC (both preliminary and final round). Documents from technical judging are not printed for the contestants. Read the WSAP Guidelines carefully.

** COMPUTER LAB EVENTS
For events in the computer labs, full-size keyboards will be available upon request. Tell your students to ask the administrator or proctor for a keyboard if they would like one.

** COMPETITIVE EVENTS SCHEDULES
Make sure you logon to the National BPA conference registration site to view and print your students’ conference schedules. If a contestant has a time conflict for an event, visit the Competitive Events Center (Room: Palisades, Hilton Hotel) immediately upon arriving at the conference.

** MICHIGAN AWARDS SESSION SOUVENIR
Similar to previous years, we will not be able to provide a blinky souvenir/noise maker for the opening or awards sessions. If you wish, you may go to a local Dollar Store to buy some light-up or noise maker items for your chapter.

** TWEET TO #MIBPA OR @MICHIGANBPA
During the NLC, make sure you tweet pictures and comments while you are at the conference. Please make sure you include Michigan BPA in your tweets so we can obtain your pictures for use in our post-conference newsletter or on our website.
