** LAST TUESDAY TIPSTER FOR 2017-2018
This will be the last Tuesday Tipster for the 2017-2018 school year. During this time of year, we always receive e-mail alerts on business teacher and administrative job openings throughout Michigan. As we receive those alerts, we will forward those messages throughout the summer months. In addition, as important news needs to be announced, we will send that information via e-mail message as well. Therefore, chapter advisors may want to monitor their e-mail throughout the summer. Enjoy your summer!
** A FRIEND OF MICHIGAN BPA: RON DRAAYER
We are excited to share some news about our previous BPA Hall of Fame Award Recipient and current Middle Level Michigan BPA State Advisor Ron Draayer. Ron is co-BPA advisor at Davenport University and has been involved in Michigan BPA for 38 years. Ron retired as a full-time professor from Davenport University in 2017. However, he continues to be a proponent for BPA and has worked on BPA related projects for Davenport University since his retirement.
Please visit https://www.rondraayer.com/ to learn more about Ron’s next career phase and how he plans to continue to support Business Professionals of America. More details will be shared with you throughout the summer months.
** FLC TENTATIVE DATE
Many schools like to have the BPA Fall Leadership Conference on their calendar before departing at the end of the school year. The date that has been tentatively set for the BPA Fall Leadership Conference is Friday, October 5, 2018. Yes, this is a Friday. We typically hold this conference on a Monday; however, the Lansing Center is not available and this was the best date available to prevent holding the conference in late October.
Final details about the conference will be available in mid-August.
** REGIONAL ADVISOR TRAINING MEETING
2018-2019 Regional Advisors should mark their calendars for the Regional Advisor Training meeting on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. The meeting will take place at the MSU Brody Complex in East Lansing, MI. The meeting will be held from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM Regional advisors should watch their e-mail throughout the summer for more details.
** SLC LEGACY LAUNCHER CERTIFICATES
Students who attended three or more legacy launchers and visited at least eight college fair booths during the state leadership conference, and submitted their College Fair booth visitation document, earned a special Certificate of Achievement. Those certificates were mailed to chapter advisors today.
** SLC PHOTOS
Friday, May 25, 2018 is the last day to purchase photos from the 2018 State Leadership Conference. The photo store is available online at https://michiganbpa.photoshelter.com.
Be advised that we have changed the layout of the photo store because it was apparent that many pictures were not easily accessible unless you clicked the “Archives” link. Therefore, we have changed the format of the site and all the pictures appear with very few clicks on your device.
If you have visited the photo store in the past, we encourage you to check one more time in order to make sure you have access to pictures you may not have seen before.
Again, the final date for purchasing pictures is Friday, May 25, 2018. After that date, these pictures will not be available.
** UPDATED NLC WINNERS LIST
A final version of our 2018 NLC Winners List is available online at www.michiganbpa.org/nlc. This list now includes all the students who served as conference interns and those who participated in the leadership academy.
