** LINKEDIN PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS AT SLC
Michigan BPA will be offering LinkedIn (or other social media us) professional headshots at SLC. BPA alum and volunteer Michael Croff will be facilitating the mini headshot studio on the second level of the hotel, in front of Courtesy Corps.
We are excited to offer this additional service to conference participants, advisers and volunteers. Photos will be individually edited and delivered via email after the conference.
Headshots will be offered for $10, of which $5 will be contributed to Michigan BPA.
For group sales of headshots feel free to contact Michael Croff during the conference or before at email@example.com or 517-242-2851.
A schedule of headshot studio open hours will be available soon.
** SLC HOTEL ASSIGNMENTS
SLC hotel assignments are complete. Some schools have already received their final hotel invoice from their assigned hotel. You will receive your official notification and balance due invoice directly from the hotel by the beginning of next week, if you haven’t already received it. This information will be sent via e-mail to the person listed on the General Reservation Information page of your hotel reservation. Stay tuned to e-mail for your invoice from the hotel.
** ADVISOR ASSIGNMENTS
Advisor contest assignments have not been completed yet. Please stay tuned for more information. We hope to have the advisor assignments posted online by the end of next week. Once they are available, a special e-mail message will be sent to all advisors.
SPECIAL MEALS REQUESTS DUE IMMEDIATELY
If you or any of your students have any sort of food allergies or require a vegetarian/vegan meal, please make sure you have submitted a special meals request form online at www.michiganbpa.org/slc-special-meals-request. This information was supposed to be submitted online with conference registration on February 1.
SLC TEAM MEMBER SUBSTITUTION
If your student team members change for any team event from what you have entered in BPA Scheduler for your state conference registration, please notify the state director via e-mail. You may change your team members up until February 15, 2018. After that date, once event times have been assigned, substituting team members must be available at the team’s assigned time slot.
MAKING REGISTRATION CORRECTIONS, ADDITIONS, ALTERNATES, AND SUBSTITUTIONS
As necessary, visit www.michiganbpa.org/slc-registration-correction-addendum-form in order to submit corrections, additions, alternates, and substitutions to your state conference registration paperwork.
STATESMAN TORCH AWARD RECIPIENTS LIST AVAILABLE
Congratulations to the 2017-2018 Statesman Torch Awards recipients! The award recipients will be recognized during the Opening Session at the State Leadership Conference for the Secondary Division. Visit www.michiganbpa.org/torch-awards-program to download a list of the recipients.
SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS FORMS
Remember, if you have any delegates that have special accommodations of any kind, you should have submitted a special accommodations request form with your SLC registration. If you have not done so, please do so immediately. Business Professionals of America will **NOT** be held responsible for providing special accommodations if this form is not completed and submitted right away. We cannot make any special arrangements for anyone if we are not aware of what may be required. Please do not put us in jeopardy of not fulfilling our civil rights obligations.

BPA WEEK: FEBRUARY 12-16
BPA week is coming up…it is February 12-16 and is the best time for your chapter to promote your chapter and conduct fundraising projects. Make sure you plan a BPA activity next week. It’s great to have a social event during the week for your chapter and a community activity so people can learn more about BPA.
February is Career/Technical Education Month. What is your chapter doing to promote business education throughout your school and in your community? I strongly encourage you to plan some sort of activity or multiple activities to promote business education. Make sure your school administrators, students' parents, school counselors, and legislators are aware of the positive impact business education and career/technical education has on student development. Although we aren't part of “traditional” academics, we play an important role in establishing a foundation for success in ALL careers.
PARENTS ATTENDING THE AWARDS SESSION
If you have parents who are interested in attending the awards session, you may want to share this information with them. A limited number of tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
