Michigan BPA Gingerbread House Building Contest

Theme: “Building Homes, Building Hope – One Gingerbread at a Time!”


 Competition Calendar

November 14 - December 14: Build & Create Period
Teams design and construct gingerbread structures inspired by homes, community, or hope. Creations must be 100% edible (except the base).

December 1-14: Submissions
Submit up to 5 photos, a 50-word (minimum) description explaining how your design connects to Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes and helping families, and a materials list of ingredients and items used for your gingerbread house. (200 word Maximum)

December 14-21: Judging Week
Judges score entries on creativity, craftsmanship, and connection to the service project theme.

December 21: Winners Announced
Results are posted on Michigan BPA social media and are recognized during the State Executive Council January newsletter. Prizes and certificates awarded.


 Awards

  • 1st Place: 1st Place Certificate signed by the SEC mailed to the winner by the end of February, Feature on State Instagram Post- @michiganbpa, and a shoutout at the State Leadership Conference

  • 2nd Place: 2nd Place Virtual Certificate, Winner Recognition on State Instagram Story- @michiganbpa

  • 3rd Place: 3rd Place Virtual Certificate, Winner Recognition on State Instagram Story- @michiganbpa
