Michigan BPA extends a very special thank you to the team at Davenport University for hosting a very successful state conference. They did a great job hosting the event this year. We appreciate all their hard work in making sure everything was well planned.

This year there were 127 students and 12 advisors for a total of 139 participants. There were seven Postsecondary chapters present.

** SLC WINNERS LISTS UPDATED ONLINE
Congratulations to all the SLC winners. Remember, the first place winners will receive plaques and the 2nd and 3rd place received certificates. Students cannot compete in more than three main events at the NLC. Students may compete in an unlimited number of Open Events.

The complete list is now available for download at www.michiganbpa.org/postsecondary-postslc.

** FULL RANKING RESULTS
Chapter advisors may log on to the BPA Scheduler website to view a complete list of all the rankings of their students. Click the “Attendee” button/tab once you log on.

For the Interview Skills event, students will see their score and rank for the preliminaries round only if they did not advance to the finals round. The top two students per section advanced to the finals round. Students who competed in the finals round will see their score for both the preliminaries and finals rounds.

** STUDENTS WHO ARE NOT ATTENDING THE NLC
If you have students who qualified to attend the national conference, but they are not attending, please let me know. I can notify an alternate in that event if your student is not attending. Please let me know no later than Friday, March 1, 2019.

Keep in mind that some events allow the top five (5) to compete at the NLC. Therefore, if you had students in the top 5, you should check the WSAP Guidelines for that event to determine if the top five (5) qualifiers are eligible.

** CONFERENCE ARRIVAL
When you are booking your airline travel for the conference, please try to arrive early enough to attend the Michigan State Meeting on Wednesday, May 1 at 6:30 pm-7:30 pm. Advisors and all student delegates from Michigan are encouraged to attend this meeting.

** BPA SPECIAL AWARDS
Visit https://bpa.org/students/bpa-cares/ for details regarding the service learning awards, special recognition awards, and professional awards. Your chapter may be interested in applying for recognition at the national level.

BPA WEEK: FEBRUARY 11-15
BPA week is coming up…it is February 11-15 and is the best time for your chapter to promote your chapter and conduct fundraising projects. Make sure you plan a BPA activity for the week. It’s great to have a social event during the week for your chapter and a community activity so people can learn more about BPA.
