** SLC CONFIRMATION MESSAGE & MEMO
Please review the e-mail message that was sent yesterday entitled “BPA Postsecondary Info 2019 SLC.” There is a lot of information included in and attached to that message that will not be repeated in this Tuesday Tipster.

** SLC REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION NOTICES & ADVISOR ASSIGNMENTS
Confirmation notices including a final information memo and the advisor assignments will be sent to you via e-mail later yesterday. Please review the e-mail message that was sent yesterday entitled “BPA Postsecondary Info 2019 SLC.” There is a lot of information included in and attached to that message that will not be repeated in this Tuesday Tipster.

All advisors and chapter chaperones will be assigned to work a contest room. Most contest rooms have more than one contest. Fulfilling one’s advisor assignment is critical to the success of the conference.

** CONFERENCE AND DUES PAYMENTS WERE DUE YESTERDAY
If applicable, outstanding membership dues payments and state conference payments were due yesterday. Payments due to Michigan BPA can be paid online via credit card online at http://bit.ly/bpa-ps-credit. If you wish to pay National BPA via credit, please contact mgordon@bpa.org to request a credit card payment authorization form.

** STUDENTS REMOVED FROM COMPETITIONS
There are eight events that required students to upload presubmitted materials by 11:59 PM this past Friday. Students who did not submit the required materials were removed from these competitions. Advisors were notified by e-mail on Saturday of any such instances. Refer to www.michiganbpa.org/ps-slc-presubmits for more details.

** SLC STUDENT SCHEDULES AVAILABLE ONLINE
Your contestant list with their contest times are now available to you by logging in to the BPA Scheduler website. When you log in, please click the “Attendees” tab to view your contestants’ schedules. Please share their schedules with them.

** INDIVIDUAL & TEAM ENTRY FORMS AND WORKS CITED PAGES
Please review the WSAP Guidelines, previous Tuesday Tipsters, and the SLC Confirmation message for information regarding which events require students to turn in signed Individual or Team Entry Forms and Works Cited pages.

** ONLINE TESTS USERNAMES AND PASSWORDS
All chapter advisors will receive received an e-mail later today with the usernames and passwords for online testing for Open events and the I.T. objective events. The usernames and passwords will be the same for each contestant for all tests administered online. Please provide each student with his/her username and password.

** ADVISOR YEARS OF SERVICE
Visit www.michiganbpa.org/slc-documents to download a list of advisors who will be recognized at the SLC for their 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service.

** DRESS CODE
Don’t forget to remind your students about the Michigan BPA dress code. Please follow these guidelines as published in the pre-conference registration booklet.

** EQUIPMENT STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE
Please pay close attention to the events, especially in the I.T. area, in which students must provide their own laptop in order to complete the work. The programming events require the students to have their own equipment OR they can use the computers at Davenport using the software indicated above. For the programming events, it is preferable that they use the equipment provided by Davenport University.

** PROJECTORS FOR JUDGED EVENTS
Contestants will be able to use the projectors and whiteboards in the classrooms at Davenport University for their presentations. Davenport University’s classrooms are configured with projectors and whiteboards in all classrooms and computer labs. Students may bring their presentations and use the teacher station in the classroom if you are using software in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher). Davenport University has installed Office 2016. If you are using some other software, bring your laptop and you can very easily connect your laptop to the projection system.

** STUDENT COMPUTER USE/FILE SAVING INSTRUCTIONS
Please make sure all of your students have a copy of the instructions for using the computers and saving files during computer-related competitions at the state leadership conference. The instructions in the Postsecondary SLC Computer Instructions (PDF) are available online at www.michiganbpa.org/postsecondary.

BPA WEEK: FEBRUARY 11-15
BPA week is coming up…it is February 11-15 and is the best time for your chapter to promote your chapter and conduct fundraising projects. Make sure you plan a BPA activity for the week. It’s great to have a social event during the week for your chapter and a community activity so people can learn more about BPA.

APPROVED CALCULATORS
Please remember that for any student competing in an event that allows a calculator, BPA will follow the guidelines approved by ACT. Please make sure you review the type of calculator your student(s) have as published in the Calculator Guidelines published in the WSAP Guidelines. Contestants who violate the rules published in these guidelines will be disqualified.
