** SLC REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED
Due to the fact that many schools were closed yesterday, including colleges such as Eastern Michigan University, the deadline for registering for the Postsecondary SLC is being extended until Thursday, January 31, 2019. We anticipate that schools will be closed again tomorrow due to severe temperatures. Therefore, please make sure you plan to get all the necessary information to reach your students for any information you may be missing in order to complete your registration. The deadline cannot be extended beyond this date.

** DUES PAYMENT DEADLINE
All outstanding state and national dues invoices must be paid on or before Monday, February 4, 2019. Both offices accept MasterCard and VISA if you wish to pay via credit card. If you wish to use a credit card to pay for you state membership dues, please visit www.michiganbpa.org/credit. You may contact National BPA at 800.334.2007 (M-F 8am-5pm ET) to pay your national dues via credit card.

** BPA WEEK: FEBRUARY 11-15
BPA week is coming up…it is February 11-15 and is the best time for your chapter to promote your chapter and conduct fundraising projects. Make sure you plan a BPA activity for the week. It’s great to have a social event during the week for your chapter and a community activity so people can learn more about BPA.

APPROVED CALCULATORS
Please remember that for any student competing in an event that allows a calculator, BPA will follow the guidelines approved by ACT. Please make sure you review the type of calculator your student(s) have as published in the Calculator Guidelines published in the WSAP Guidelines. Contestants who violate the rules published in these guidelines will be disqualified.

STATESMAN TORCH AWARD RESULTS ARE AVAILABLE
All Statesman Torch Award submissions have been reviewed. If you had students apply, please login to the Torch Awards system to review your results. A list of award recipients may be found online at www.michiganbpa.org/torch.

COMPETITIVE EVENT DOCUMENTATION FORMS
Event Documentation/Entry Forms (in Word Format) are posted online at www.michiganbpa.org/documents. You will need the following documents:
*** Individual Event Entry Form
*** Team Event Entry Form
*** Release Form

Handwritten forms will not be accepted and will result in DISQUALIFICATION. Obviously, if there is an area where it tells the student to print or sign his/her name, handwriting is allowed in that spot.

Remember, if you want to look up your student’s contestant numbers to include on these forms, please logon to the membership registration system at www.registermychapter.com/bpamem/ and click on "Enter/View Your Members” and then “List All.” The 10-digit number that is next to the students’ names will be their contestant # for the SLC.
