Dear Chapter Advisors:
Happy New Year! This message is being sent late this week due to the New Year’s Day holiday.
This is the first message of the year where it will be separate from the Secondary Division. During the months of January through March, the Tuesday Tipsters will be separate for both the Secondary and Postsecondary Divisions. Therefore, Tuesday Tipster archives for January through March will be archived on the Postsecondary page of our website.

** STATE OFFICE COMMUNICATION
As you know, we more e-mail during the SLC planning time. Please be patient as we respond to the many e-mail and telephone messages that we receive at this time of the year. Continue to monitor e-mail and the website at www.michiganbpa.org/postsecondary for conference details as they develop.
** SLC LOCATION
We are pleased that Davenport University will be hosting the 2019 state conference. I am certain that their team will do a great job planning a successful event. Many details about the conference will be shared with you throughout all the upcoming Tuesday Tipsters.
** SLC INFORMATION, REGISTRATION BOOKLET, AND FORMS
The state conference registration booklet is available online at www.michiganbpa.org/postsecondary.
Please make sure you download and read the SLC Registration Booklet. There is a lot of information in the document in terms of using the BPA Scheduler website for conference registration and instructions for uploading the presubmitted events materials.
** BPA SCHEDULER SLC REGISTRATION OPENING SOON
The BPA Scheduler website will be open tomorrow for registration. You may use the website at www.bpascheduler.com by using your e-mail address as the username and your six-digit chapter ID number (with the dash) as your password. Instructions on how to use the BPA Scheduler website are located inside the SLC Registration Booklet.
** CHAPTER STATUS
If you and/or your entire chapter are **NOT** attending the SLC, please let us know.
Also, please pay close attention to the competitive event information mentioned in this and future Tuesday Tipsters. Any information posted in these updates supersedes what is published in the WSAP Guidelines Handbook 2019.
** LIST OF 2018-2019 COMPETITIONS
Michigan BPA will not offer some of the pilot events offered by National BPA. For a complete list of competitions, please refer to the contest time schedule in the SLC Registration Booklet or view a complete list online at www.michiganbpa.org/postsecondary.
** ADDING ADDITIONAL MEMBERS
You can add additional members up until January 25, 2019. You can add these additional members by going online to the www.registermychapter.com/bpamem. Remember, all dues payments must be received at both the state and national offices on or before February 4, 2019. Both offices accept MasterCard and VISA if you wish to pay via credit card. If you wish to use a credit card to pay for your state membership dues, please visit www.michiganbpa.org/credit.
** MEMBERSHIP VERIFICATION & DUES PAYMENTS
Schools with any outstanding balances for state and/or national dues or other items will not be allowed to compete at the SLC. If your school fits this category, you will be notified via e-mail on a weekly basis. Please continue to handle these matters expeditiously.
** COMPETITIVE EVENT DOCUMENTATION FORMS
Event Documentation/Entry Forms (in Word Format) are posted online at www.michiganbpa.org/documents. You will need the following documents:

*** Team Event Entry Form
*** Release Form
Handwritten forms will not be accepted and will result in DISQUALIFICATION. Obviously, if there is an area where it tells the student to print or sign his/her name, handwriting is allowed in that spot.
Remember, if you want to look up your student’s contestant numbers to include on these forms, please logon to the membership registration system at www.registermychapter.com/bpamem/ and click on "Enter/View Your Members” and then “List All.” The 10-digit number that is next to the students’ names will be their contestant # for the SLC.
** PRESUBMITTED EVENTS
As you know, there are eight (8) competitions that are considered presubmitted events because they have materials that must be mailed to us prior to the state conference.

Graphic Design Promotion
Network Design Team
Video Production Team
Website Design Team

** TORCH AWARDS
Everything for the torch awards program is done online. Do **NOT** mail any torch awards information to the state office. More information about the torch awards program can be found online at www.michiganbpa.org/torch.
