Let's Help with Reading Literary

"Individual commitment to a group effort--that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work." --Vince Lombardi

We are excited to be working with Reach Out and Read this year as our state service project. Reach Out and Read is a nonprofit organization that gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together.

We know reading literacy is important for all individuals. It is never too early to start developing reading skills in young children. Therefore, Michigan BPA is encouraging local chapters to conduct virtual book drives for Reach Out and Read or create/rebuild a Little Free Library in your community.

For donations, we encourage chapters to host a virtual book drive where people can buy the books directly from Reach Out and Read web page.

For something more active, we encourage chapters to build or refurbish an existing Little Free Library for your community. This is a wonderful way to help people in your immediate area.

A great deal of information and resources is available on our State Service Project page.

Remember, if you participate in the state service project, your chapter would be eligible to be recognized at our state leadership conference in March.

Thank you to all chapters that are participating in our state service project. It means a lot each year to know our organization is helping so many other organizations and people each year. We are making the world a better place a little bit at a time when we work together!
