Three BPA Alumni Receive Higher Education Degrees
2017 has been a unique year for Michigan BPA alumni. This year, three alumni members who have worked at the Michigan BPA State Office received their higher education degrees from all three levels, Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D.
Matt Leddy, our 2012-2013 State Secretary/Treasurer, and Michigan BPA State Administrative Assistant from 2013-2017, graduated from Eastern Michigan University on April 22. Matt founded the current EMU BPA chapter and was a EMU Presidential Scholar. On July 1, he will begin his professional career at Ford Motor Credit in Nashville, Tennessee as a part of their Leadership Development Program.
On May 6, former Michigan BPA State Administrative Assistant Kyle Caldwell earned his Master’s in Business Administration. Kyle worked in the Michigan BPA State Office from September 2003 through March 2007. He is currently employed as a Chevrolet District Sales Manager for General Motors in South Dakota. He earned his Executive MBA degree from Northwood University.
On May 4, Michigan State University conferred a Ph.D. upon Nathaniel W. Cradit. Dr. Cradit (aka “Nate”) wrote a dissertation entitled From “Thoughts and Prayers” to Practice: Narratives of Faculty Sensemaking During Campus-Carry Policy Enactment. His dissertation identified the ways postsecondary teaching and faculty behavior change when new state laws allow firearms on college campuses. Nate served as the 2003-2004 State President and was elected to our National Board of Trustees in May 2017. He currently assists Michigan BPA as our Technology Coordinator.
Congratulations to Matt, Kyle, and Nate on their remarkable achievement! We’re very proud of them as well as all our BPA alumni who earned their postsecondary degrees this year.
