Vice-President of Membership
This year the state executive council has made it a goal to increase membership by 50 members by December 1, 2011. We feel that if each chapter works to the best of their abilities we could go much higher than that number.
There are always cool things you could do to bring awareness to your chapter in your local school. Your chapter can plan after school activities. One of my favorite activities to do this time of the year with my chapter was “Raking of the Leaves.” Our entire chapter got together one day after school and would go around town and rake the leaves of the elderly’s yards. Afterwards we would have a get together and drink cider and eat donuts. It is small activities like this that not only bring the best out in us, but also let us meet people outside of the school atmosphere.
Another way to help out members and making them aware is to have a designated day once a week after school where members can come in and work on their projects. Word of mouth can travel quite fast. People who may just want to see what Business Professionals of America is all about can show up and realize the potential they have in our organization.
For other ways to get in contact and share ideas with other chapters is to like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
