The Michigan BPA State Office will be closed starting Wednesday, November 23 until Monday, November 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Happy Thanksgiving!

JOB APPLICATION FOR INTERVIEW EVENTS
Just as last year, here are things to consider when completing the job application for Interview Skills and Advanced Interview Skills:

*** Students may have assistance with the job application and there is no time limit for completion.

*** All job applications must be typed. Handwritten job applications will not be accepted. Since we are simulating an online submission, an individual would not be able to submit a fill-in HTML form with handwriting. Therefore, job applications must be typed.

*** Will formatting count? With the document being provided in a Word version, this may require some document manipulation on the student's part to make sure the document remains in a presentable format (i.e., hanging underlines not going over to the next line, text boxes not wrapping to the next page, etc.). A PDF fill-in version is now available on the Documents page of Michigan BPA's Web site.

WSAP GUIDELINES UPDATES
The Michigan BPA State Office can't recall if we have notified chapter advisors that an updated version of the WSAP Guidelines is available online from the National BPA Web site. A new version was posted on November 8, 2011.

SEE YOUR CHAPTER LIVE IN VIDEO (S)
For the first time ever we will have constant streaming of BPA news in the hotel rooms at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and on a large TV screen in the Center Concourse during the state leadership conference. Does your chapter want some screen time? Please send in photos and videos of your chapter or students at the regional leadership conference, completing community service activities, conducting fundraisers, and more. Look at the information sheet entitled "SLC Video Submission" on the Documents page of our Web site. The deadline to mail your entries to the Michigan BPA's State Office is January 27, 2012. Schools may submit more than one video.

CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP--STATE SERVICE PROJECT
Make sure your chapter participates in the year's state service project - the Salvation Army! This will give you the opportunity to win an $800 or $400 chapter scholarship which will be given to the two chapters that give the most. Please download the "State Service Project Chapter Scholarship Form" from the Documents Page of our Web site. The postmark deadline for submission is March 1, 2012.

The state officers updated the materials and instructions for submitting information regarding your participation in the Salvation Army State Service Project. Revised forms for the state service project are now available online as indicated above.

MICHIGAN BPA: SOCIAL MEDIA & 40TH ANNIVERSARY
Have you liked Michigan BPA's Facebook page, yet? Like our page to find out everything you need to know about Michigan BPA. We are using Twitter, Facebook, and soon a mobile app to give information about BPA competition help, activities, and changes, as well as information about the state leadership conference. Finally for our 40th anniversary we want EVERYONE (alumni, students, and advisors) to fill a 40 years of paper with what BPA has done for you. You can print this paper off on our website or Facebook page. Fill them out and send them in throughout the year. Click the 40th anniversary logo on the main page of our Web site for more details.

ADDING ADDITIONAL STUDENT MEMBERS
It is not too late to add additional students as dues-paid members. You can logon to the membership registration system and enter more names. Additional invoices will be generated as you enter more names. Visit http://www.registermychapter.com/bpamem/.

For the Secondary Division, students who join up through Friday may still participate in regional competition by paying the late RLC registration fee. Or students may join until December 1 and compete in Open Events without late registration fees.

Postsecondary chapters may enter additional names until February 1, 2012.
