The Fall Leadership Conference is coming up! This year FOCUS training will be presenting three workshops on October 10, 2011. The FLC will provide opportunities for chapter officers to network with other students from around the state and learn more about teamwork, networking, and leadership. FOCUS Training prides themselves on motivating students to achieve excellence through understanding and ACTION; get ready for a fun and informative time.
The sessions given at this year's FLC are as follows:
- "Fans, Friends and Followers." This session takes a look at how to network with others in the professional world during a technological age.
- "Community Build" teaches about the importance of volunteerism and supporting your whole community, whether that be: family, chapter, school, state or nation.
- "Twisted Tower" looks at the importance of teamwork and how each individual plays a key role in a team.
Also, during lunch there will be a meeting held for all chapter officers with ANY interest in becoming a Michigan BPA State Executive Council officer. This is a chance to hear from the current state officers about all the benefits and responsibilities that come with being a leader of Michigan BPA.
By stepping out of your comfort zone and coming in with an open mind, the fall leadership conference will give officers leadership skills and ideas for their chapter. Let's kick off the Business Professionals of America year with a great fall leadership conference!
A videoconference for advisors from Region 5 (Upper Peninsula) will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Advisors in Region 5 may obtain more details regarding that conference from Regional Advisor Ann Wuorinen.
